چکیده

Abstract Background Entomopathogenic fungi have low persistence in the field because of UV light, high temperatures and humidity. Thus, this study's objective was to correlate Beauveria bassiana Metarhizium anisopliae soybean leaf by measuring mortality sub-lethal effects Helicoverpa armigera (Hubner) (Lepidoptera/Noctuidae). In 2017–2018 2019–2020 seasons, experiments were conducted on plots subdivided a completely randomized design. After spraying each plot with fungal, either B. or M. , leaves collected hourly for 8 h after application transferred laboratory. The local air temperature recorded time. For assessment, fungal suspension prepared from disks; thereafter, 150 µl removed poured into plate. 72 inoculation, colony-forming units (CFUs) counted. test, disks placed individually pots offered second instar larvae H. . surviving evaluated biological parameters. Results more persistent than which persisted 3 first year 5 when milder; throughout evaluation period (8 h). decreased an increase time since suspension, presenting range 86–30% 78–4.2% Conclusion Assessments sublethal showed inverse correlation between CFUs parameters such as fertility weight.

Impact of differential feeding on the growth and development of Helicoverpa armigera (Hubner).

The growth and development of Helicoverpa armigera was observed in the laboratory by feeding them on different foods viz; leaf, flower and fruit of lady finger, cotton, pigeon pea and chick pea. Based on the food ingested, food digested and food excreted as well as on weight and size of the larvae and the duration of larval period, the fruit of chick pea was found to be the most suitable food f...

Integrated Management of Helicoverpa armigera in Soybean Cropping Systems

In most developing countries, agriculture is the driving force for broad-based economic growth and low agricultural productivity is a major cause of poverty, food insecurity, and malnutrition. However, food production per unit of land is limited by many factors, includ‐ ing fertilizer, water, genetic potential of the crop and the organisms that feed on or compete with food plants. Despite the p...

This study deals with Insecticide Resistance Management of cotton bollworm Helicoverpa armigera to five commonly used insecticides on cotton were carried out during 2008. In August, LD value for 50 chlorpyriphos varies from 0.046μg/larva in Parbhani district to 0.172 mg/larva during October in Aurangabad district. Resistance to chlorpyriphos was highest in Aurangabad district (3.65-8.25 fold) f...

Efficacy of Some Synthetic and Biopesticides Against Pod Borer, Helicoverpa armigera (Hubner) in Chickpea

Efficacy of some synthetic and biopesticides against pod borer, Helicoverpa armigera (Hubner) damage in chickpea was studied at the Regional Agricultural Research Station, Ishurdi, Pabna, Bangladesh during rabi cropping season of 2004-05. Synthetic and biopesticides reduced pod borer damage significantly. Significantly lowest pod damage was observed in cypermethrin (5.75%) and HNPV (5.86%) spra...

Role of salicylic acid in tomato defense against cotton bollworm, Helicoverpa armigera Hubner.

We investigated the role of the salicylic acid (SA) signaling pathway in defense responses of tomato plants to the herbivore, cotton bollworm. After exposure to the cotton bollworm, tomato leaves rapidly accumulated a high level of SA. The transcription of PR1 and BGL2 genes, the marker genes of SA pathway, was up-regulated. An enhanced endogenous SA level was accompanied by an increase in the ...
